James 2:14-17
We have the truth of the scriptures and know that we are saved by faith alone and not by any works. If we are saved some of the evidence of that will be what we do from that beginning point. What we say we believe ought to show up in our daily lives. We don’t do any work to be saved; but rather, do work because we are saved – saved from the penalty of our sin and eternal punishment, and left here on earth as ambassadors to serve and be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.
We started off June traveling to meet with the congregation at Charity Baptist Church, Perry, FL. They have several options on building back their prophet’s chamber that burned and we will guide them and help all we can. They cannot pull their own permit like we had hoped so we will help with that and the building process as they need. At Victory Springs Independent Baptist Church the brick work has been completed and the stucco work has been scheduled. Prices are coming in for the interior metal stud framing and can begin as funds permit. Grace Bible Baptist made good progress with the help of New Testament Church Planters missionary builders. There are still windows and doors and frames needing to be installed and we are planning to get there soon to help with those parts. The church needs more funds and volunteers to keep the project moving forward. Vision Baptist is still waiting on one more revision to the foundation plan and can then apply for the permit. Prices are still coming in and trades are being selected for the parts and, hopefully, they’ll get started on the foundation in the near future.
We again helped out a few days at Venture of Faith Camp in Lake Park, GA. Kevin and Jon were able to take pieces from an old awning that had blown down and cut them down to install a smaller section over the grill area on the back of the kitchen. There are still many things left to do there and as we have a day or two will travel back and forth and help as we can. Both Bethany and Jon had the opportunity to go to camp there and experience what happens during the week of camp. Over 40 young people trusted Christ as Savior during those weeks; more than worth the little work effort to be a help where we can.
We have had several set backs on the next trip to the Bahamas but the Lord has moved things around and made it all work out. Two of us will fly commercial to one island and then take a ferry to another. We will have two days to witness and canvass and then teach CPR/first aid at Beulah Baptist Church’s annual convention. We pray the training will allow us to build relationships and open doors to other islands that have no gospel witness. Many have no church or preacher of any kind and the work is hot and hard but for even one soul to be saved is worth the effort.
Kevin had the privilege to travel to the Who Will Go camp in North Alabama and be an observer for a few days. This camp is centered around training young people in practical skills they will encounter on a foreign mission field. It’s more of a mini boot camp with lots of physical challenges and an emphasis on working as a team. The campers learn evangelism, wilderness survival, first aid, self-defense, situational awareness, and much more, all while witnessing and honoring God 24/7. It was a great camp and opportunity to visit with some other men who are investing in this next generation of servants. Hopefully we become part of this camp in the future.
We are the busiest we have ever been and loving it. God continues to show us where he wants us and what he wants us to do in His service. There are no dull moments as things look a lot different from day to day and place to place. We are grateful to each of you for the prayers and encouragement we receive and the partnerships through giving and going; every bit a vital part as we serve together.

James 2:14-17
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warm and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body, what doth it profit?
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
