Mortenson's August Update
August 2024
Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers for our family and ministry. God has been so good to us over the past month. July started quickly, as we began gearing up for youth conference. The youth conference was hosted at our church and was very well attended by other local churches. The final night of the conference there were 250 teens in attendance. Several teenagers expressed how helpful the conference was as the preaching was directed at challenges they face in the teenage stage of life. We pray that the Lord will continue to work in their hearts and lives, and that they will continue to grow spiritually.
On July 22, our family flew back to the States to begin a short furlough till mid-September. Furlough time is always busy but blessed. We have already reported in two supporting churches, sharing what the Lord is doing in Honduras. We have also gotten to spend some time with both Cori’s parents and my parents. And we already had a doctor’s appointment with Blake's endocrinologist. She was very pleased with how Blake is doing, and only had to make a few adjustments to the treatment plan.
Another joy of the first part of this furlough was reuniting with Mykenzie in Kentucky. She has enjoyed the experience that she gained while working the summer job at the Creation Museum, but we have all missed each other and it is so good to have the family back together again. We arrived here in KY on Monday the 29th of July and she worked her last day on Tuesday the 30th. We have missed her so much over the last several months but are glad for the growing time that it has been. She will come home to Honduras with us to finish her senior year of high school before returning to the States to begin the next stage of her life. Please continue to pray for her as she seeks the Lord’s will after graduation next spring.
Thank you for your faithful prayers and support, we are looking forward to seeing some of you over the next month and a half. Please pray for traveling mercies as we are on the road, and that the Lord would allow us to be an encouragement as we share in person how He is working in Honduras. Thank you again for your partnership in prayer.
PRAYER REQUESTS
