Hebrews 6:10
Minister. According to Webster’s 1828 dictionary a minister is a chief servant. An agent appointed to transact or manage business under the authority of another. That’s what we are, you and I, servants of our Lord Jesus Christ. Trained and sent out by the local church in the power of the Holy Spirit to go and serve in the areas we have been gifted in; to serve in furthering the Gospel and being the hands and feet - boots on the ground - ministering to the saved, encouraging and exhorting and lending a physical hand to those in need. We say in Spanish, “Con mucho gusto,” with much pleasure!!!
April was very productive as we served in many different areas. Kevin traveled to First Baptist, Ocoee, FL and met with Pastor Harris again and Mike, a local residential builder. We looked at some site drainage concerns and came up with solutions and finalized their vision/plan for a construction remodel. Their blueprints are in the design phase and all the documents have been filed with the building department before permitting. Vision Baptist, Crestview received their blueprints and now only wait on their revised development order for permitting and construction of the new metal building to begin. Pricing the work to be hired out and picking the sub-contractors is ongoing. Grace Bible Baptist, Pensacola has building missionaries on site and are making progress tightening up loose ends and grunt work for the hired sub-contractors. The windows and some doors have been ordered and others are being selected. Value engineering or trimming off some fat will save the church time and money and allow the builders to do more themselves. At Victory Springs Independent Baptist in High Springs, FL the exterior metal framing and sheathing a vapor barrier are all installed and inspected. The bricks have been ordered and will be delivered early next week and masons will get started right away. A stucco contractor has met Kevin on site and is pricing the decorative bands and vertical surfaces between the brick. Our possible construction loan is on hold for now, but God continues to provide each step of the way as needed. These are four churches in different counties all with unique circumstances and needs, and it’s our pleasure and reasonable service to help any way we can.
Kevin had the privilege to help at Venture of Faith Camp in Lake Park, GA for a couple of days. The camp got major damage from hurricane Idalia last August and repairs have been ongoing since. Several more buildings need extensive work and there is still much to be done and time is short, with their camps and conferences coming up in early summer. Hopefully we can go back in the next few weeks and help more.
Kevin and AJ James @ Emission-Air continue to plan and work out the details of their next Bahamas trip with the pastors. A church invited them back in mid-July to do some training and participate in the church’s yearly conference. While there, another open-air meeting and a men’s outdoor activity are planned for community outreach, getting the gospel out again. If the details can be worked out with customs and security, a skeet shoot is planned to draw in some men that aren’t church goers. Really pray with us about that. We want to reach some men!!!
Kevin deployed to Oklahoma for a few days with Operation Renewed Hope after the tornadoes devastated several towns there. He and AJ met with a few local pastors gathering information and assessing damage to determine how much relief if any would be needed. At this time relief is plentiful and several big agencies were quick to respond and had everything needed already in motion. We will stay in close contact and follow up to see if efforts will be needed after the big agencies move on. There is always a process of response, recovery, rebuild, and we have played parts in all of them as the churches requested and the situation required.
On a much more personal note, we sold our “retirement” home in 2018. We have rented ever since and have moved 12 times. We are glad to do it and know that part of missionary life is going. We believe with the work God has us doing right now, and rent going up more and more, it’s time to have our own house again. With the help of some money type advisers and the VA we are in a position to do a land home package with little to no money down and mortgage payments cheaper than rent. We would like to have a small barn type house outside of city limits in the area we are in now. We believe this area would serve as a base for all that we are doing and give us a safe place for the family when Kevin is gone on trips and room for us to do our training on the property, too. If it all works out we will close on the loan in the next few weeks and begin our own construction process.
Thank you all for your prayers and encouraging messages and financial partnerships. These things done and the souls save and saints helped are fruit to your accounts. We are truly grateful.

For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
