2 Corinthians 3:5-6
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
Who also made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

In and of ourselves we can accomplish very little, and the truth is, most of that would be of no real value. On the other hand, by serving in and through the local churches and other ministries the end result is that saints get help physically and spiritually, and sinners get the gospel; a win-win for everybody and we each have our part.

At Victory Springs Independent Baptist we got the brick delivered for the front of the church and the brick layers have gotten started. They should be done in a week or so. We hope to get the stucco work done next and then the drive through entrance roof as the funds come in. The church continues to pray for funds and stay debt free. Grace Bible Baptist made a bit of progress on their remodel. Missionary builders got most of the electrical and plumbing roughed in and some misc. framing completed. The windows have been delivered and the doors are in fabrication. When they arrive our family plans to travel there and install the windows and doors. We got a call from Charity Baptist Perry, FL. that their prophet’s chamber had caught fire and insurance said it was a total loss. We traveled there and met with church leadership to survey the property and give guidance of how to replace the large mobile home with a smaller house. We can help them with the details of the construction process and if needed the permitting and associated paperwork. We will help how we can as the Lord leads. We went back to Venture of Faith Camp in South Georgia for several days to help with more hurricane damage. Most of the lean-to type porches and aluminum awnings and walkway covers were destroyed. We went as a family and built one of the lean-to porches on the Snack Shack/store and parts of an awning on the back of the kitchen. It was fun to get to work together for a change. Our kids will get to go back for camp in the coming weeks.

We were invited to the Global Harvesters Pastor’s Missions Conference in Colorado May 12-15. We couldn’t go due to Kevin having the stomach flu and already being committed to several other things. He was able to watch all of the sessions live online and message back and forth with a couple of the speakers. The theme was doing missions the Bible way. We learned a lot more about how Paul and other of the first missionaries did missions. We continue to have ongoing conversations with several other missionaries on implementing practical training into the lives of young people surrendered to missions. We are looking forward to where these things will go in the near future. Win them, train them, send them!!! Our oldest son and his family visited us for a couple of days. It was good to see them and catch up on things and get to celebrate the youngest granddaughter’s first birthday. Our youngest son, Jon, turned eleven on the 13th. He is becoming dad’s best helper. We did security team training at our church on one Saturday. The world is not getting any better and the local church is not exempt from the evils of our day. Our men learned some advanced handgun techniques that hopefully they never need but will be a little more prepared just in case.

We started the process to try and buy a house again back in December. There was just no way with prices the way they are to buy something already built and rent here is double what it was a couple of years ago. We had been looking at and praying about a piece of land and looked into a land house package but even that was out of reach. We decided to try to get the land and then build a little barn type house on it. After all these months we closed on the land yesterday and can start the building process in the next few days. This process has been a battle and uphill all the way but will be worth it in the end and soon we will pay our own mortgage again verses renting. None of the things we do or are involved in get done without number one, our Mighty God and number two, you his people. We are always in awe of God’s goodness to us and your faithfulness to partner with us in praying and providing. Thank you each and every one, and to God be the glory for the great things he is doing and will do.
